FAQs

How should I use my red light?

For best results, use your red light consistently for 10–20 minutes per treatment area, keeping the device approximately 6–12 inches away from the body. For general wellness and recovery, daily use or at least 4–5 sessions per week is recommended. For muscle soreness, joint discomfort, or post-workout recovery, multiple shorter sessions per day may be beneficial.

Should I wear eye protection?

While red light therapy is generally considered safe for the eyes, we recommend using protective eyewear, especially during longer sessions or when treating areas near the face. Avoid staring directly into the LEDs for extended periods. Our Luminexis Red Light Panel comes with eye protection in the box.

Why do the near-infrared LEDs on my RTL look like they are not working?

Near-infrared (NIR) light is mostly invisible to the human eye, so some LEDs may appear dim or completely off even when functioning properly. These wavelengths work beneath the skin’s surface to support deeper tissue recovery and circulation.

What is the difference between red and near-infrared wavelengths?

Red light wavelengths typically work on the surface level of the skin and are commonly used to support skin health, collagen production, and overall glow. Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into muscles and joints, making it ideal for recovery, circulation, and deep tissue support

Can I wear clothes when using the red light?

For best results, expose bare skin directly to the light whenever possible. Thin or light-colored clothing may allow some light through, but thicker fabrics can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
